T Bone Burnett
After creating a blues group called the B52 band Burnett released his solo debut, "Truth Decay" in 1980, which many consider to be one of his finest efforts. But while he played the songs during live performances of the play, this is the first time he actually recorded them, something that took such a long time because of other commitments. We were listening to Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, The Carter Family, and a lot of Haitian music, he says, so the axis this music turns on is some kind of line drawn from New Orleans through Mississippi and Tennessee to Haiti. The conversation became that music was a driving force in the culture.
